Day shift Plate assembler

We are recruiting a plate assembler for a full-time evening shift(3 p.m to 11 p.m) .

Responsibilities:

  • Read and analyze production sheets and technical specifications to prepare printing plates.
  • Receive plates into the internal system and verify orders.
  • Plan the order in which plates are assembled based on the press production schedule.
  • Clean, check, and mount plates on sleeves or cylinders, ensuring alignment and registration marks are correct.
  • Use measuring and control tools (magnifying glass, mounting bench, cameras) to ensure accurate positioning
  • Ensure efficient management of plate, adhesive, and accessory stocks
  • Prepare and adjust adhesive tapes, mounting foams, and other supports
  • Maintain assembly tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working order
  • Communicate with press operators and press assistants to ensure smooth plate installation
  • Check the condition of the plates after printing and ensure they are maintained or replaced if necessary
  • Complete production and quality reports
  • Clean and store plates after use in accordance with internal procedures
  • Classify and archive reusable plates in accordance with internal standards
  • Comply with the quality and safety requirements specific to the food packaging industry
  • Work in accordance with applicable safety, hygiene, and quality standards
  • Apply good manufacturing practices and cleanliness standards related to the sector 
  •  

Required profile:

  • Previous experience as a plate mounter
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and precision
  • Reliable and dependable
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Physical ability to lift loads (minimum 50 lbs)
  • Basic math skills
  • Proficiency in French, both spoken and written (primary working language)
  • Ability to understand and use English occasionally, particularly for certain communications or technical information provided by plate suppliers
